The Festival Of The Arts

Festival of the Arts is an annual, free, 3-day event that features performances, creative activities, food booths, and vendors. In 2023 the festival is being held in the beginning of June.
Cannonsburg is known for skiing in the winter but what most people don’t normally think of when hearing about it is their zipline adventure and trails in the summer. You can also watch some pretty phenomenal sunsets and sunrises from the top of the hill and it sure is breathtaking!
In Comstock Park you’ll find Grand Rapids’ very own baseball team, the Whitecaps. The West Michigan Whitecaps makes going to a baseball game as fun as it can be with all the extra events, themed days, and mascots! This is the perfect thing to do with your family on a nice spring day.
The viewing park at Gerald R Ford International Airport is the perfect place for a picnic with your kiddos, a date night, or a fun place to just watch the planes come and go! The park has food trucks during various weeks in the summer as well!
Millenium Park is one of the nation’s largest urban parks! This is the perfect place to go for a bike ride, hike, kayak or boat ride (they offer them for rent), to bring kids to the splash pad, or tan on the beach! The activities are endless and the park is beautiful!
This concert series brings so much joy to GR as they welcome in musicians from all genres and generations. Not to mention that the venue is in the gorgeous outdoors of Frederik Meijer Gardens!
With kids being off of school in the summer, there is a lot of time to enjoy the warm weather in Grand Rapids and going to the zoo is one of the many ways you can do just that. John Ball Zoo is great at what they do and not only do they have great animal exhibits, but they also offer a variety of fun programs and events throughout the summer!
We definitely recommend having a beach day at one of West Michigan’s beautiful lakeshore beaches! Two of our favorite beach towns are Holland and Grand Haven. Both of these places have beautiful beaches and plenty of hidden gems within the towns!
