Having a Gilmore Girls Fall in Grand Rapids

Every time Fall rolls around, we notice that Gilmore Girls rolls right back around with it, and we are SO here for it. Maybe you grew up watching Gilmore Girls or it’s slowly become your comfort show in the past few years or maybe you’ve never watched it (we recommend it!!).

We find ourselves noticing Gilmore Girls nostalgia all around us in the Fall and we wanted to share the spots where we’ve said to ourselves: “This feels like it would be in Gilmore Girls”.

If you follow our recommendations in this post and spend a whole afternoon, day, or weekend pretending you’re in Gilmore Girls in Grand Rapids, send us your photos or tag us on social media! We can’t wait to see your Gilmore Girls-inspired adventures.

Find your own "Lukes Diner"

Gilmore Girls wouldn’t be so iconic without Luke’s Diner! There are a few spots in the Grand Rapids area that remind us of the cozy cafe vibes of Luke’s, here they are:

-Wolfgang’s

-Roots Brew Shop

-Lucy’s Cafe

Leonard at Logan is located in the heart of Heritage Hill and gives off super strong Dragonfly Inn vibes! We’re pretty excited about this one and you will be too. The interior gives off a cozy antique look, like Lorelai’s prized B&B, and they also serve breakfast. Escape the hustle and bustle of Downtown GR while still enjoying the city at this beautiful inn.

Every time we walk into a soda shop we think of Gilmore Girls and the opening of Taylor’s Olde Fashioned Soda Shop!
When you visit the Downtown Market in Grand Rapids, you’ll stumble across High Tide Soda. Stop by, pick out a soda, and pretend like you’re spending a Fall day in Stars Hollow!

The Dragonfly-like inn that we just talked about is located in the Heritage Hill neighborhood of Grand Rapids.

Heritage Hill is full of historic homes and tree-lined streets that make for amazing views as you walk through the neighborhood. Invite your mom or daughter along on a neighborhood walk in Heritage Hill to channel your inner Lorelai and Rory on a Stars Hollow-feeling walk!

Visiting a Fall Farm or Pumpkin Patch just gives off strong Gilmore Girls Fall vibes! A walk through Farmhaus Farms or picking apples at Ed Dunneback or getting pumpkins at Dahlia Acres makes for the perfect activity for feeling like you’re on the set of Gilmore Girls!

If you know anything about Stars Hollow, you know that they hold an annual Fall Festival and it’s simply iconic. Here are some Fall Festivals to visit in the Greater Grand Rapids area:

Every Saturday in October: Harder and Warner Boutique Gardens Fall Festival

-Select days in the Fall: Post Family Farm Fall Fest Days

-Saturday October 26: Parkside Farm Harvest Festival

-Tuesday October 29: Fall Fest at Cascade KDL

The first picture that comes to mind when I think about Rory and Lorelai strolling Stars Hollow is the white gazebo!

Honestly, a gazebo like this one is hard to come by in Grand Rapids, but Veterans Home Park on Monroe in Grand Rapids along with Candlestone Inn and Golf in Belding have beautiful white gazebos that give off a Gilmore Girls feel exactly!

Finish off your gilmore girls fall by binging the fall themed episodes of the show and cozying up at home

I think we can all agree that Gilmore Girls makes us feel cozy and comfortable and screams Fall core. Cozying up on the couch with hot apple cider or hot chocolate while eating a Fall treat and watching all the Fall themed episodes of Gilmore Girls makes for the perfect night in. Check out our list of all the Gilmore Girls fall episodes and tag us in your watch party photos!

We love all of the Gilmore Girls-themed fun that we’ve found in the Grand Rapids area and hope that you’ll embark on some of these adventures, and don’t forget! When you do, tag us in the pics you take!
