Meet Amalia

Communication/Social Media

Hello Hello! I’m Amalia!

I am the communication gal and have the honor and pleasure of posting and getting content for social media, writing blogs, sending out newsletters, and helping people get and stay connected to their communities. This job and opportunity has shaped me into more of a passionate and creative individual and I am SO grateful for the team I get to work alongside!

I was born and raised in Hudsonville MI, which is a small town with a big community feel. Growing up I was taught to love West Michigan and everything that comes with it. From feeding the fish at the Fish Ladder in GR to watching the Musical Fountain in Grand Haven to shopping in Downtown Holland, it’s safe to say that West Michigan is THE BEST place to live and I will always stand by that!

Not to mention, I am quite obsessed with the West Michigan coffee scene. I LOVE local coffee shops and every fine detail about them. Some of my favorites are Sparrows at Kingma’s Market in Creston, Full Circle Coffee in Byron Center, Wildroast in Grandville, and Sidebar Artisan Coffee in Grand Haven. If you ever visit any of them, be sure to tag @thelocal.westmichigan on Instagram so I can see your coffee shop adventures! 🤩

I am currently studying Strategic Communication at Calvin University and really have found a love for content creation! I’ve learned a lot about all things communication and am so excited to apply my learning to my work and career life. We learn about a variety of topics such as public relations, social media, public speaking, argumentation, and hear from professionals who work in the field which is always interesting!

Some of my hobbies include traveling, singing, calligraphy art, and line-dancing. I love to explore little corners of the world and appreciate the little things that make each and every place unique. And, if you are looking to get into a new hobby, the Alaskan Pipeline in West Olive has line dancing which is SO fun!

So whether you’re looking to buy or sell a home, or just looking for some information on connecting to your local community, you’ve come to the right place and I can promise you that your experience with The Local Element will be nothing short of fantastic!
